Embodiment Construction

[0012] FIG. 1 depicts a device for exhaust gas recirculation in a supercharged internal combustion engine. In this example, the combustion engine refers to the diesel engine 1 . This recirculation is often referred to as exhaust gas recirculation. Adding exhaust gas to the compressed air that is introduced into the engine cylinders lowers the combustion temperature, which reduces the formation of nitrogen oxides (NO X ) content. The diesel engine 1 can be used to power heavy vehicles. Exhaust gases from the cylinders of the diesel engine 1 are led via an exhaust manifold 2 to an exhaust line 3 . Exhaust gas at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure in exhaust line 3 is directed to turbine 4 . The turbine 4 is thus provided with a driving force which is transmitted to the compressor 5 via the connection. The compressor 5 compresses air introduced into the intake line 7 via the air filter 6 . A charge air cooler 8 is arranged in the intake line 7 . The purpose of the...

Abstract

The present invention relates to an arrangement for recirculation of exhaust gases of a supercharged combustion engine (1). The arrangement comprises an exhaust line (3) intended to lead exhaust gases out from the combustion engine (1), an inlet line (7) intended to lead air at above atmospheric pressure to the combustion engine (1), a return line (10) which connects the exhaust line (3) to the inlet line (7) so that via the return line (10) it is possible to recirculate exhaust gases from the exhaust line (3) to the inlet line (7), and an EGR cooler (12) in which the recirculating exhaust gases in the return line (10) are cooled by a coolant before they are mixed with the air in the inlet line (7). The exhaust gases in the EGR cooler (12) are cooled by a circulating coolant which is adapted to being at a temperature substantially corresponding to the temperature of the surroundings when it is led into the EGR cooler (12).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an exhaust gas recirculation device for a supercharged internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1 . Background technique [0002] It is known to use the so-called EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technique to guide a portion of the exhaust gases produced during the combustion process of the internal combustion engine back via a return line to the intake line which supplies the internal combustion engine with air. A mixture of air and exhaust gas is thus supplied through the intake line to the engine cylinders where combustion takes place. Adding exhaust gas to the air reduces the combustion temperature, especially reducing the nitrogen oxides NO in the exhaust gas x content. This technology is used in both gasoline engines (ottoengine) and diesel engines. [0003] The amount of air that can be supplied to a supercharged internal combustion engine depends on the pressure of the air as well as the temperatu...
