The invention discloses an air borne entertainment
system which comprises a common passenger entertainment unit, a distinguished passenger entertainment unit, a
data interchange network and a passenger entertainment streaming
media server, wherein the common passenger entertainment unit and the distinguished passenger entertainment unit are connected with the passenger entertainment streaming
media server through the
data interchange network. The invention further discloses a control method of the air borne entertainment
system on the basis of streaming media
unicast. The method includes the steps of monitoring a distinguished passenger service port, judging whether a
client is connected successfully, judging whether a program watching request exists, sending program
data point to point, judging whether a program canceling command is received, judging whether playing of programs is finished and the like. According to the
system and the method, a limited and small
transmission bandwidth is occupied to provide multiple channel entertainment programs capable of being selected by common passengers, and meanwhile intelligent user interfaces and interactive programs are provided for a minority of distinguished passengers, so that entertainment requirements of different passengers are met.
