Nigella sativa (black caraway, also known as black cumin, nigella, kalojeere, and kalonji) is an annual flowering plant in the family Ranunculaceae, native to south and southwest Asia.. N. sativa grows to 20–30 cm (7.9–11.8 in) tall, with finely divided, linear (but not thread-like) leaves.The flowers are delicate, and usually colored pale blue and white, with five to ten petals.

The present invention discloses Anti-hirsutism compositions, use and methods for managing hirsutism in a subject using the composition comprising turmeric oil standardized to contain Aromatic Turmerone (ar-Turmerone), Eflornithine; Nigella sativa extract; Oroxylum indicum extract; and Licorice extract either individually or combinations thereof. The invention also discloses use of the above composition in inhibiting the activity of ornithine decarboxylase and 5-α-reductase.
