Problems solved by technology

However, there is no mention of such molded bodies in this document, such as forging dies that can be used to make forming processes that are usually made of metal
[0003] For example, forging dies used in forming processes, such as deep drawing forming methods or other similar methods, often have a short service life
Deep-drawing of metal parts with a male die (stempel), sheet jig or female die made of plastic results in high wear on the contact surfaces and the compressive strength of the forging die material is too low
This often results in the rapid scrapping of the forging die

Embodiment Construction

[0020] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in further detail by way of embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0021] Within the scope of the invention, tests were carried out on the loading of plastics with the addition of nanoparticles of different sizes. The measured properties of the nanoparticle samples P-D4, P-bl, P-b2 and P-b3 are listed in Table 1 below.

[0022] Table 1

[0023]

[0024] As shown in the table, the P-D4 sample has a particle size of 800 nm, while the other nanoparticles have substantially smaller particle sizes. The nanoparticles are individually modified with surface modifiers and incorporated into the plastic mass. Tests on the P-D4 sample showed that inhomogeneity and clumping occurred already when agitated. During the hardening process of the samples, it was found that the plastic contained a large number of air bubbles.

[0025] Contrary to this, it is certain that in the samples with nanoparticles, acc...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a forging die at least partly composed of plastic, the die containing a portion of nano-scale particles embedded in the plastic. Such forging dies are particularly suitable for use as forming dies, for example in the deep drawing of sheet metal for body parts, because of their particularly high compressive strength and good wear resistance.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a forging die at least partially made of plastic. Recently, so-called nanotechnology has shown importance in various technical fields. As used in nanotechnology, nanoscale particles having a particle size substantially below a micron. Since the particle size is 10 -9 to 10 -6 meters, so we are dealing with solid systems with atomic structural scales that no longer obey known macroscopic laws. The size of such nanoparticles is usually smaller than the short-wavelength wavelength of visible light (about 400nm), so that these particles can no longer be seen with conventional microscopes. The production and disposal of such nanoparticles is relatively expensive. It is worth noting that nanoscale inorganic solid particles have a variety of interesting industrial uses, such as coatings for optical components (cf. DE4133621A1). Because of the above-mentioned uses, it is primarily concerned in this document with the production of t...
