Abstract

The invention relates to a method for biomechanically simulating a set of osseous joints of a patient, in particular rachis. The inventive method involves a step for recording a digital three dimensional model embodied at least partially in the form of rigid bodies interconnected by means of joints in a reference position, a step for personalising the model geometry by specific patient data in said reference position, a step for personalising said digital model by particularising interaction parameters [mobility or rigidity characteristics] of each joint which connects said rigid bodies according to detected patient characteristics. Said method is characterised in that the particularisation of the interaction parameters consists in obtaining the space positions of at least one part of the rigid bodies and in interpolating in order to determine the calculated position of other rigid bodies and to produce a numerical table containing the relative positions of each rigid body, applying at least one defined constraint to the patient and collecting information on the general balance position of said patient [other than the reference position], and in determining analytical functions which make it possible to approximate the interaction parameters, thereby making it possible to reproduce the measured relative positions for each pair of rigid bodies.
