Benefits of technology

This patented technology describes various technical features associated with improving the flexibility and efficiency of delivering films onto roll-shaped objects like drums used during production processes. One advantage being improved flexibilities involves changing the dimensions of the delivery medium (roll) and the load carrying member(transmitting rod). Another aspect relates to the design of the apparatus where both the supply and recovery roll pairs rotate around separate axes while maintaining tight coupling between them. Additionally, there is a third aspect involving how the measurement devices measure the size of the object's rotation relative to the axis passing therethrough. Finally, these improvements include enabling the detection of any defects caused by slippage between the rolling elements and the receiving members, allowing for more accurate monitoring and adjustment over time.

Problems solved by technology

Technologies: Cold Film Transfer (CFT) involves applying films directly to print materials without adding any special chemicals called solvents. However, these techniques have limitations due to factors including cost efficiency, environmental concerns associated with volatile organic compounds released over time after exposure, and compatibility issues between various components within the process itself. Additionally, some processes require specific conditions for good bond strength while others involve high temperatures.

Embodiment Construction

[0067] FIG. 1 shows a device according to the prior art for transferring a transfer layer from a carrier film to a printing material 10 , the transfer layer and the carrier film together forming the transfer film.

[0068] A transfer film tape 3 is wound on a transfer film stock roll 2 . The transfer film stock roll 2 is provided on a stock shaft 1 which rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow. A drive (not shown here) can be provided for rotating the reserve shaft 1 .

[0069] The reserve shaft 2 is fixedly connected to the reserve shaft 1 , whereby the rotation of the reserve shaft 1 is directly transmitted to the reserve shaft 2 . In this way, the transfer film web 3 is unwound from the supply shaft 1 and transported via deflection rollers 4 to the transfer nip 7 . Several deflection rollers 4 can also be provided in order to achieve a corresponding course of the transfer path of the transfer film web 3 .

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for transferring a transfer layer of a transfer film to a carrier 10. The invention is aimed to easily use a plurality of partial film webs 16, 17, 33 in a device for transferring a transferring layer to a sheet. A storing shaft 1 and an accumulation shaft 11 are constituted as friction shafts 13, 23. Thereby, the transmission of rotary movement of the friction rollers 13, 23 to at least one transfer storing rollers 20, 21, 22 and/or a transfer film accumulating roller 24, 25 are carried out by the friction connection between the friction roller 13 and the rollers 20, 21, 22 which can be overcome by the tension forces F<1>, F<2>, F<3>, F<3>of transferring film webs 16, 17, 33. Therefore, a plurality of transfer film rolls 20, 21, 22, 24, 25 having different diameters are provided on the friction shaft 13, 23.
