Abstract

The invention discloses an automatic road coding system, which comprises a city road-network topology generating module, a road-network topology checking and correcting module, an object-level determining module and a code computing and generating module. Firstly, the topology of the road network is established through the city road-network topology generating module according to the original data of the city road network; after that, the road-network topology checking and correcting module performs checking computation and correction on the road-network topology; then, objects to be coded are defined with the object-level determining module; and finally, the codes of each object is computed with the code computing and generating module according to a certain coding rule. The code consists of 16 hexadecimal digits and includes a direction code, an object-level code, a classification code, an index code for overlapping codes, and an augmented code. With the invention, city traffic entities including city roads, road intersections, road traffic facilities, traffic events, etc., can be coded uniformly with the same structure, thereby realizing the information exchange of each subsystem in an intelligent traffic management system.
