A slop channel which is composed of a sloping bottom surface and two side walls is constructed on the midline of a sloping river stretch, wherein, a plurality of suspended type water wheel generators are arranged in the slope channel, overhead travelling cranes are installed on the two side walls of the slope channel, and the generators are suspended on the overhead travelling cranes to cause the water wheels of the generators to fall into the running water of the slope channel so as to drive the generators togenerate electricity. The overhead travelling cranes are used for adjusting the height of the generators so as to maintain the normal operation thereof. The hydroelectric installation not only greatly reduces the one-time investment of hydroelectricity generation but also obviously increases the utilization efficiency of water currents in the slope channel, and has certain function of protecting the ecological environment. By arranging drift separating plates, moveable slope plates, channel tail hydraulic hedgehog, generator rear wings and other facilities, the hydroelectric installation effectively solves the influence of water surface drifts on the generators and the influence of different water velocities on the continuous electricity generation, keeps the equal water level depth in the channel, controls the direction of the generators, etc.
