Abstract

The invention discloses a lateral deforming controller which comprises an oil cylinder, wherein a piston capable of moving back and forth is arranged in the oil cylinder; a piston rod of the oil cylinder is also connected with a piston rod of a liquid injecting cylinder; the head part of the liquid injecting cylinder is connected with a multipass joint; and the multipass joint is also connected with a first pressure gage, a water supply pipe and a connecting pipe. The piston in the oil cylinder can be driven to do bidirectional movement by the switch of a reversal valve of a hydraulic system, thereby driving the piston rod of the liquid injecting cylinder to move. An initial pressure value is preset in the liquid injecting cylinder, the bidirectional movement of the piston rod can cause the change of water pressure, and the change is transferred in a sealed chamber of a static lateral pressure instrument by the connecting pipe to be capable of controlling the shrinking and the expansion of a rubber ring in the sealed chamber. The rubber ring is expanded by suction force so as to prevent lateral wall friction when the lateral deforming controller is installed in a soil body; after the thrust is applied to the rubber ring, the rubber ring is shrunk and tightly attached to the lateral surface of the soil body and exhausts air. The invention carries out a plurality of tests on soil layers in different areas, leads a K0 value to be more real and overcomes the defect that a relation curve of axial valid stress and lateral valid stress does not pass through a coordinate origin.
