Abstract

The invention relates to a system and method for improving exhaust gas recirculation for a turbocharged engine. The system and method for delivering EGR to an internal combustion engine is presented. The system comprises: an internal combustion engine; a turbo-charger containing a compressor and a turbo; a EGR valve which can lead exhaust gas to a position of an air-intake system of an engine on upstream of the compressor, or a position of an air-intake system of an engine on downstream of the compressor from the exhaust gas system of the engine; and a controller which provides compensation when the EGR valve state changes from a working condition from providing exhaust gas to the downstream of the compressor to a working condition from providing exhaust gas to the upstream of the compressor. The system can reduce system cost and lower system complexity.
