The embodiment of the invention relates to a method and a device for realizing load balancing, wherein the method for realizing load balancing comprises the following steps: receiving a data access request which comprises an address and length of to-be-accessed data; determining an access area in a logic unit corresponding to storage equipment according to the address and the length of the to-be-accessed data; if the access area is a hotspot area, distributing a fast path for the data access request. The embodiment of the invention is the fast path with better IO request distribution performance of the access hotspot area, and therefore, the IO request processing speed of the access hotspot area can be increased, and the IO request processing property is improved, thereby improving the system service quality.
