Abstract

The invention provides a multi-cell battery system and a serial number endowing management method, which is capable of using a simple circuit structure to easily determine the module going wrong. A main apparatus (10) sends a serial number endowing reception request signal (S1) and sends a series of serial numbers to be endowed as a serial number endowing signal (S2) in sequence. Slave apparatuses(3-1 to 3-4) respectively receive the serial number endowing signal (S2) to execute the serial number endowing when the serial number endowing reception request signal (S1) is received from the mainapparatus (10) or a superior slave apparatus, returns a serial number endowing completion signal (S3) to the main apparatus (10), and sends the serial number endowing reception request signal (S1) toa junior slave apparatus. Under the condition that the serial number endowing completion signal (S3) is not returned from the modules (1-1 to 1-4), the main apparatus (10) judges that the modules go wrong.
