On the basis, the invention further discloses a video monitoring method, which comprises that: the plurality of encoding forms are preset in the front-end monitoring equipment; the front-end monitoring equipment selects the corresponding encoding form according to the instruction of the system server; and the front-end monitoring equipment performs encoding according to the selected encoding form and encapsulates the corresponding encoding form into the video stream for the issuing.
