Embodiment Construction
[0012] The high-pressure fuel pump comprises a pump housing 1 on which two pump cylinder heads 2 a and 2 b are arranged at an angle of 120° to one another. In each of the two pump heads 2 a and 2 b are guided pump pistons 3 a and 3 b , which come into contact with a common polygonal configuration 4 of the pump camshaft 5 in the center of the pump housing 1 . Furthermore, the suction valves 7a and 7b in the pump heads 2a and 2b supply the corresponding pump pistons 3a and 3b with fuel at low pressure via the low-pressure feed channels 6a and 6b. The suction valves 7a and 7b in turn fill the pressure chambers 8a and 8b arranged above the pump pistons 3a and 3b with fuel. The low-voltage supply channels 6 a and 6 b are connected on the other side to the groove 9 of a low-voltage block 10 . In the area of the tank 9 there is a metering unit 11 which is supplied with fuel under low pressure via a low-pressure connection 12 by a delivery pump not shown and which doses the fuel de...
