Abstract

The invention relates to a high-speed power line carrier communication modem, in particular to a method and a device for carrying out COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulation on a digital signal at a transmitting terminal and carrying out COFDM demodulation at a receiving terminal. The method comprises the following steps of: coding N digital signals obtained from an information source and converting the digital signals into digital baseband signals; mapping the digital baseband signals for improving information transmission rate thereof; converting signals obtained by carrying out Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform (IFFT) on the mapped data streams into analog signals through a digital to analog converter (DAC). The demodulation method is adverse to the modulation method, which comprises the steps of first carrying out OFDM demodulation in the COFDM process and then coding.
