Problems solved by technology

However, existing portable e-book readers can only support e-books with simple formats such as EPUB, TXT, HTML, and LIT due to the limitations of their own hardware conditions (such as processor, memory, space, etc.). The support for files like PDF and OFFICE series is very weak
These are the bottlenecks caused by the hardware conditions of the portable e-book reader itself
In the prior art, there are two ways to solve the above problems: one is to sacrifice the performance of the portable e-book reader, and consume a large amount of memory, storage space and time to completely analyze the files of the above-mentioned PDF and OFFICE series; One is to sacrifice the quality of the displayed content of the e-book, and do incomplete analysis of the above-mentioned PDF and OFFICE series files, such as only displaying text

Embodiment 1

[0062] refer to figure 2 , shows a flow chart of the first embodiment of the method for converting an electronic book data format according to the present invention. The precondition of this method embodiment is: the source file is from a portable e-book reader, and the portable e-book reader is in an offline working mode, specifically including:

[0063] Step 21, the portable e-book reader uploads the source file that cannot be parsed by itself to the e-book data format conversion device;

[0064] In this step, the source file can be uploaded through wired transmission such as data line transmission, or wireless transmission such as Bluetooth technology transmission.

[0065] Step 22, the e-book data format conversion device calls the decoder corresponding to the file format of the above-mentioned source file, and decodes the above-mentioned source file into an intermediate file;

[0066] Step 23, the electronic book data format conversion device calls the encoder to encod...

Embodiment 2

[0071] refer to image 3 , shows a flow chart of the second embodiment of the method for converting an electronic book data format according to the present invention. The preconditions of this method embodiment are: the source file is from a portable e-book reader, and the data format is converted to an online working mode, specifically including:

[0072] Step 31, the portable e-book reader transmits the source file to the e-book data format conversion device in an online working mode;

[0073] Step 32, the e-book data format conversion device assigns a unique identity, i.e. ID, to the above-mentioned source file, and sends the ID of the source file to the portable e-book reader;

[0074] Step 33, the electronic book data format conversion device invokes the decoder corresponding to the file format of the above-mentioned source file, and decodes the above-mentioned source file into an intermediate file;

[0075] Step 34, the electronic book data format conversion device cal...

Embodiment 3

[0127] refer to Figure 8 , shows a flow chart of the third embodiment of the method for converting an electronic book data format according to the present invention. The precondition of this method embodiment is: the source file comes from the server where the e-book data format conversion device is located, and the data format is converted to an offline working mode, specifically including:

[0128] Step 41, the portable e-book reader sends a download request to the e-book data format conversion device in an offline manner;

[0129] Step 42, the electronic book data format conversion device obtains the source file according to the above download request;

[0130] Step 43, the e-book data format conversion device judges whether the data format of the above-mentioned source file is a format that the portable e-book reader can parse; if yes, execute step 44, if not, execute step 45;

[0131] Step 44, the electronic book data format conversion device directly sends the source ...

Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for converting the data format of an electronic book and a portable electronic book reader, wherein the method for converting the data format of the electronic book comprises the steps of: acquiring a source file which the portable electronic book reader cannot analyze; converting the source file into a target format file which the portable electronic book reader can analyze; and transmitting the target format file to the portable electronic book reader. The conversion of the source file into the target format file specially comprises the steps of: calling a decoder corresponding to the file format of the source file, decoding the source file into an intermediate file; and coding the intermediate file to the target format file which the portable electronic book reader can analyze. On the basis of not increasing the storage space and the production cost of the portable electronic book reader, the method for converting the data format of the electronic book effectively solves the problem of analyzing complex format files, guarantees that the contents of the complex format files can be displayed completely and the user experience resulting from the portable electronic book reader is strengthened.
