The invention discloses a near infrared (NIR) online detection method for paeoniflorin content of white paeony root extract, and belongs to the technical field of Chinese medicament research. The method comprises the following steps of: a) acquiring near infrared spectrum and paeoniflorin content of white paeony root extract samples of set number; b) establishing a detection model by a partial least squares method according to the near infrared spectrum and the paeoniflorin content; and c) acquiring the near infrared spectrum of the white paeony root extract sample to be detected on line, and inputting the near infrared spectrum to the detection model to obtain the paeoniflorin content of the sample to be detected so as to realize online detection of the paeoniflorin content of the white paeony root extract.
