Abstract

The invention discloses a flow downloading method and system as well as a packet data network gateway, wherein the method comprises: the packet data network gateway receives an IP (internet protocol) packet load sent by a user terminal, and detects whether the IP packet load contains a flow identifier to be downloaded; after the flow identifier to be downloaded is detected, starting flow downloading identifier is sent to the user terminal by a mobile management entity; and after the starting flow downloading identifier is received, a PDN (public data network) connection between the user terminal and the packet data network gateway is built so as to realize the downloading of the local packet data network gateway to the flow to be downloaded. According to the invention, on one hand, the data flow passing through a core network is obviously reduced, and the processing load of the core network is lowered, on the other hand, as a great amount of low-value data flow does not flow through the core network, the data congestion is avoided, and the service experience of a user is promoted.
