The invention discloses a process pattern based dynamic workflow planning system and method and is mainly used for reducing the difficulty of business process modeling and realizing the dynamic generation of process definition. The system disclosed by the invention comprises a process pattern base, an application analyzing system, a dynamic planning server, a process adapting server and a workflow engine, wherein the process pattern base is used for storing created process patterns and defined evaluation functions; the application analyzing system is used for constructing application scenarios corresponding to business goals according to business information provided by users and relevant data of precursor process activities and outputting the business goals and the application scenarios; the dynamic planning server is used for searching out the process pattern matched with the business goals and the application scenarios which are output by the application analyzing system and generating the process definition of the process pattern; the process adapting server is used for adapting the process definition output by the dynamic planning server; and the workflow engine is used for executing each process pattern storied in the process pattern base and the adapted process definition. According to the invention, the workflow definition meeting requirements can be dynamically planned according to the business information in the execution process and the relevant data of the precursor process activities.
