Abstract

A ground test method for remote intersection tools is applied to testing measurement precision of remote intersection tool models for coal seam gas by ground simulation test, and includes: making test preparation; laying two parallel tracks on a site; mounting a MWD (measurement while drilling) system at 2m away from the rear end of a test trolley; mounting the test trolley on the tracks; horizontally fastening permanent magnet subs on the test trolley; and suspending a remote intersection tool sensor outside the other end of each track at a position 0.5-2m away from the tracks. During testing, a motor on the test trolley drives the permanent magnet subs to rotate to form a rotating magnetic field, and meanwhile, the test trolley is fixed at a position or pushed to move to the other end of each track. The remote intersection tool sensor receives magnetic signals of the permanent magnet subs and transmits the magnetic signals to a computer for processing. The ground test method and the ground test device achieve on-line testing with the MWD system, and can be used for simulating field operation of remote intersection and verifying a distance and angle measurement algorithm.
