Compared with a traditional converged communication system, the converged communication system is characterized in that a protocol adaptation module composed of a plurality of protocol adaptation sub-modules is added, and all the protocol adaptation sub-modules mainly complete adaptation functions of all protocol information. After the protocol adaptation module receives the protocol information from a protocol processing module, the specific protocol information is adapted to unified information which is sent to an upper-layer call control module. After the protocol adaptation module receives the unified information from the upper-layer call control module, the unified information is converted into protocols supported by the protocol adaptation module, and the protocols are sent to the protocol processing module. In the converged communication system, the protocol adaptation module shields differences of a bottom-layer heterogeneous network; therefore the call control module is simple and efficient, specific application independent of the protocols is achieved, and performance of the whole converged communication system is promoted remarkably.
