Abstract

The present invention relates to a cable type rechargeable battery, and more particularly the cable type rechargeable battery comprises: one or more cathodes having a horizontal cross section of a predetermined shape, extending in the length direction and having a first electrolyte layer constituting a pathway for ions formed on the outer surface; one or more anodes having a horizontal cross section of a predetermined shape, and extending in the length direction; a second electrolyte layer which constitutes a pathway for ions and envelops the anode(s) and the cathode(s) alike, which are equally disposed in parallel therein; and a protective covering which is disposed around the second electrolyte layer. The cable type rechargeable battery can freely change shape in that it has a linear structure while at the same time being flexible.; Short circuiting (shorting) can be prevented by introducing an additional electrolyte layer into the electrode. The battery rating is high when a plurality of anodes and cathodes are provided, since the contact surface area is increased. Also, it is easy to adjust the electrode capacity balance by adjusting the number of anodes and cathodes.
