A parallel-form energy storage device is controlled by the real-time monitoring information of a tie line, and power oscillation on the tie line is suppressed. According to the method, the current and voltage information of nodes at the two ends of the tie line is provided by the conventional wide area measurement system / energy management system (WAMS / EMS), and is synthesized into a feedback control signal of the energy storage damping controller, and an output power instruction value of the energy storage device is directly formed through a measurement amplification link, a blocking link and a phase shift link. A frequency converter of the energy storage device generates specified active power through a given power value, and injects the specified active power into a power grid, so that the power oscillation on the tie line is suppressed.
