Abstract

Methods and apparatus for correcting quantization errors in signal reception based on estimated network loading, including solutions for maintaining cellular network performance in low-noise, high-interference environments. In one embodiment, the data channel is amplified relative to other signals based on network load during periods of relatively little network use. The dynamic modification of the power level of the data channel is configured to overcome quantization errors rather than the true noise floor (which is not noticeable in low noise environments). This solution provides the fidelity necessary for a high degree of rejection of unwanted signaling while maintaining data channel quality.
