Problems solved by technology

[0004] A known measure for accelerating the shutdown process is to interrupt the vacuum of the condenser belonging to the steam turbine plant, thereby increasing the draft loss
However, with the described measures used during emergency shutdown, additional loads are placed on the vane set, whereby an even higher loss of life occurs

Embodiment Construction

[0016] exist figure 1 and 2 The course of the different power curves for two different embodiments of the method according to the invention is shown in . The method involves shutting down a turbomachine including a turbine and a generator. In order to generate kinetic energy by means of the turbomachine, live steam is supplied to the turbine, which expands and thus drives the turbine. The turbine has a rotor coupled to the rotor of the generator.

[0017] The generator is also coupled to power consumers such as the grid. To shut down the turbine unit, the live steam delivery to the turbine is reduced and the generator is disconnected from the grid. Conventionally, the generator then runs at idle with the turbine.

[0018] Curve 1 shows the speed change of the turbomachine when it is stopped. In order to shut down the turbomachine, the live steam supply to the turbine is reduced, and in addition the generator is decoupled from the grid, so that the generator is idling alo...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for stopping a turboset for a steam turbine plant, comprising the steps of: providing the turboset, which includes a steam turbine and a generator, wherein the generator comprises an exciter and an exciter winding; driving the steam turbine by means of fresh steam and discharging the generator power to a power receiver; decoupling the generator from the power receiver; reducing the fresh steam supply to the turbine; and switching the generator into a partial short circuit mode, wherein the exciter winding is supplied with electrical excitation current by means of the exciter, such that the generator acts as a load on the steam turbine, wherein the excitation current is dimensioned such that the lost heat of the generator caused by the excitation current does not damage the generator.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for shutting down a turbomachine. Background technique [0002] During operation of a turbomachine with steam turbine and generator for a steam turbine installation, fault situations may arise which necessitate a shutdown of the turbomachine. The turbogroup is usually shut down by disconnecting the generator from the coupled network and reducing the live steam delivery of the steam turbine. The generator, decoupled from the grid, then idles with the steam turbine. After the generator has been disconnected from the grid and the live steam delivery has been reduced, the kinetic energy stored in the turbomachine is substantially reduced via friction losses at bearings belonging to the steam turbine installation and via draft losses in the steam turbine. Since friction losses and draft losses are typically small compared to the kinetic energy stored in the turbomachine, the turbomachine has a long coast-down time of up t...
