Embodiment Construction

[0019] Below in conjunction with the embodiment of Jurong City, Jiangsu Province, the present invention will be further described.

[0020] The present invention comprises the following steps:

[0021] 1) Sowing

[0022] At the end of summer and early autumn, on August 20, choose a flat land as a seedbed, spread a layer of Swiss "Pinshi" vegetable substrate evenly on the seedbed, and use plug trays to sow seedlings after watering; kale seeds use "Ruiyu" number one".

[0023] 2) Transplanting and planting

[0024] On September 10, when the kale seedlings grew four leaves and one heart, they were planted in 4 plots with a plant row spacing of 40×45 cm. Each plot contained 200 plants, and the decomposed human and livestock manure was applied for conventional field management.

[0025] 3) Cut the top

[0026] When the kale is bolting half a year after transplanting and planting, cut off the shoots and upper leaves of plot 1 and plot 2 on March 15 of the following year, and kee...

Abstract

The invention discloses a collard culture method including steps of (1), seeding at the end of summer, just turning into autumn, (2), transplanting, planting the collard seedlings to the field when the collard seedlings have four leaves and one bud after seeding for one month and then performing conventional field management, (3), cutting tops, cutting off stems and upper leaves during bolting of the collard after transplanting and planting for half a year, (4), spraying the plants with 500-time diluent of 15% of Paclobutrazol wettable powder one time after the tops of the plants are cut off. By application of the collard culture method, primary branches grow from leaf axils of the collard, and the quantity of flowers of each single plant is large. The height of the plants after top cutting is only about one half of that of the plants in normal blossom, so that the plants are less prone to lodging. As compared with the condition that the plants cultured in the prior art are prone to lodging and incapable of being ornaments from the end of the March, the ornament period of the collard is prolonged to the beginning of the May which is still the blossom period, and accordingly the ornament period is prolonged effectively and the ornament value of the collard is increased greatly.
