The method comprises the following steps of: dispersing the kaolin tailings at high speed by pulping to get suspension liquid, then, pre-classifying by a centrifugal classification device to get fine sand of which the granularity is less than 0.7mm and the coarse sand of which the granularity is more than 0.7mm, conveying the obtained fine sand into the centrifugal classification device, grinding the coarse sand by a rod mill, and processing the coarse sand by the centrifugal classification device until the granularity of the obtained sand tailings is less than 0.7mm, classifying and purifying the fine sand of which the granularity is less than 0.7mm by the centrifugal classification device, obtaining the fine sand of which the Fe2O3 content is less than 0.08wt%, then, performing dehydration to get the dry quartz sand.
