Abstract

The controller comprises a color palette SRAM, a register, a DMA, a pixel unpacker and a clock frequency divider. The clock frequency divider is used for dividing frequencies of a bus clock and obtaining a pixel clock. The frequency of the bus clock is at least two times that of the pixel clock. By means of SRAM frequency doubling and the design of SRAM accessing and storing arbitration, only a single-port SRAM can achieve the function of a color palette of a double-channel LCD controller. The area of the used SRAM is only one fourth of that of a single-port color palette SRAM in the prior art so as to reduce production cost of chips, improve the yield of the chips and reduce power consumption of the chips.
