The method comprises the steps that a mobile management network element detects an MTC event of a machine-type communication (MTC) terminal; the mobile management network element sends an MTC event report to an MTC interworking function (MTC-IWF) corresponding to the MTC terminal; the MTC-IWF sends the MTC event to an application server which subscribes to the MTC event of the MTC terminal according to received information of the application server which subscribes to the MTC event of the MTC terminal. After the method and the corresponding device are used, complexity in MTC event report processing by a core network entity can be effectively lowered, under the situation that a large number of MTC terminals are deployed, processing load of a core network can be effectively lowered, operation efficiency of the core network entity can be improved, and network high-efficiency operation is guaranteed.
