The invention relates to a composition for eliminating dryness-heat property of ginseng and a preparation method thereof and belongs to the field of traditional Chinese medicines. The method includes following steps: employing 0.5-5.5 parts of ginseng, 1-19 parts of polygonatum odoratum, 1-11 parts of lily and 0.5-9.5 parts of radix glycyrrhizae as raw materials; crushing the raw materials; mixing the raw materials; adding water with a volume amount being 6-10 times; performing a decocting process and a filtering process with a filtrate for later use; adding 5-95% ethanol, with a volume amount being 6-10 times, to a residue and performing reflux extraction for 2-3 times, wherein each reflux extraction lasts for 2-6 hours; mixing and filtering extracts to obtain a filtrate; recycling the ethanol from the filtrate and mixing the filtrate with a water decoction liquid; and performing a concentrating process continuously until an extract with a relative density being 1.03-1.08 is obtained. The invention is advantaged in that: with the guide of traditional Chinese medicine theories, a scientific combination of the ginseng with drug-diet cold and cool raw materials is carried out since the ginseng is warm and dry. A modern preparation method of traditional Chinese medicines is employed.
