An event prompting system comprises a user interface, an image acquisition device, a processor, an alarming device and a database. The image acquisition device is used for acquiring images and transmitting the images to the processor. The processor recognizes word strings in the images according to word string images of the database, and the processor generates word string recognition areas according to the word strings.
