The method comprises the steps that a video camera acquires real-time analog video image data and transmits the real-time analog video image data to a decoding module through a video input port; the decoding module converts the real-time analog video image data into digital video image data; a DSP stores the digital video image data in a synchronous dynamic storage, wherein the DSP comprises a face detecting unit and a face tracking unit; the face detecting unit reads the digital video image data from the synchronous dynamic storage and performs face detecting processing on the digital video image data, so that a face region is obtained; the face tracking unit reads a digital video image for performing face tracking processing, so that a tracking result is obtained, and the face tracking unit transmits a tracking result image to an encoding module through an OSD FPGA module; the encoding module performs digital-to-analogue conversion on the tracking result image and transmits the converted tracking result image to a monitor so that the tracking result image can be displayed.
