Abstract

The invention provides a novel application of fritillaria alkaloid in preparation of medicines for preventing or treating a chronic respiratory disease. Monomeric compounds contained in the fritillaria alkaloid comprise chuanbeinone, sipeimine, sipeimine nitrogen oxide, sipeimine glucoside, yibei alkali, yibeinoside, isoverticine, isoverticine-beta-N-oxide, peimisine, hupehenine, peimine and peinine. The fritillaria alkaloid provided by the invention is capable of significantly improving the lung function of a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, blocking formation of pulmonary emphysema, improving the pathological conditions of the lung, reducing inflammatory cytokines plasma levels of the lung and peripheral blood, and regulating the oxidant factor action of the lung and the activity of matrix metalloproteinase. The fritillaria alkaloid provided by the invention is stable in quality, safe to use, easy to control; the preparation method is simple; and mass production and clinical application are facilitated.
