Problems solved by technology

[0005] However, when the DC components of the two input signals are not exactly matched, the difference between the DC components is increased by the amplification factor, resulting in a signal of the form "C" at the output terminal
Furthermore, even if the DC component of the input signal is matched, a DC offset will be generated due to the asymmetrical component of the amplifier 10
When a DC offset of a predetermined size or greater is generated in a circuit with a relatively large amplification factor, the difference in DC voltage of the output signal is relatively large, which may exceed the maximum or minimum voltage, and saturate the circuit

Embodiment Construction

[0022] Although the example embodiments are described as utilizing a plurality of units to perform the example process, it is apparent that the example process may also be performed by one or more modules. In addition, it is apparent that the term "controller / control unit" refers to a hardware device including a memory and a processor. The memory is configured to store the various modules, and the processor is specifically configured to execute the modules to perform one or more processes described further below.

[0023] Additionally, the control logic of the present invention may be implemented as non-transitory computer readable media on a computer readable medium containing executable program instructions executed by a processor, controller / control unit, or the like. Examples of computer-readable media include, but are not limited to, ROM, RAM, compact disc (CD)-ROMs, magnetic tapes, floppy disks, flash drives, smart cards, and optical data storage devices. The computer r...

Abstract

An apparatus of correcting an offset for a differential amplifier which compensates a direct current (DC) offset voltage in a differential analog signal amplifier using a resistive feedback structure to minimize a deviation and a method thereof are provided. The apparatus includes a differential amplifier that is configured to amplify a common DC voltage input via a first resistor and a second resistor with a predetermined amplification factor to output the amplified voltage. A controller is configured to compare voltages output from both output terminals of the differential amplifier to determine whether to generate an offset. In addition, the offset is corrected using a switching unit coupled in parallel to an input terminal of the differential amplifier in response to detecting a generated offset. The controller is also configured to adjust an asymmetric property of the input terminal of the differential amplifier to correct the generated offset.

Description

[0001] References to related applications [0002] This application claims priority from Korean Patent Application No. 10-2013-0156689 filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office on December 16, 2013, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to a differential amplifier, and more particularly, to an offset correction device and method for a differential amplifier that compensates a direct current (DC) offset voltage in a differential analog signal amplifier to minimize the deviation by using a resistive feedback structure. Background technique [0004] image 3 is an illustrative schematic diagram illustrating a general fully differential amplifier. see image 3 , the fully differential amplifier 10 with a resistive feedback structure is configured to amplify the signal by a set amplification factor by receiving two signals A with a 180° phase as input. In particular, the signals are ampl...
