Abstract

A mast assembly for a construction machine, having a mast with a mast guide along which a mast support is movably supported, the mast support being connected to a hydraulic source and having a first hydraulic coupling part , to hydraulically connect the tool unit to the hydraulic source on the mast bracket. It is permissible for the tool unit to have tool guide means by which the tool unit can be fixed and positioned on the mast guide. Arranged on the frame of the tool unit is a second hydraulic coupling part, which corresponds to the first hydraulic coupling part. The first hydraulic coupling part may be hydraulically docked to the second hydraulic coupling part when the mast bracket and the tool unit are moved towards each other along the mast guide. Locking means are provided which are spaced from the hydraulic coupling part and have at least one hydraulically operable latch bolt by which the frame of the tool unit can be mechanically connected to the mast support. It also relates to a corresponding method for connecting a tool unit to a mast support.
