Abstract

One or more techniques and / or systems are provided for synchronizing one or more direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) power sources (eg, a DC power source coupled to an inverter) for restoring power to a load. That is, the common bus is isolated from the grid and the loads in response to a grid failure of the grid used to supply power to the loads via the common bus. Synchronize one or more DC-to-AC power sources by a synchronization circuit (e.g., voltage, phase, and / or frequency synchronization) until the total power supply provided by the corresponding synchronized DC-to-AC power sources is greater than or equal to the target power used to supply the load . Once the target power is achieved, the load circuit breaker is closed so that the corresponding synchronized DC to AC power sources provide power to the load through the common bus.

Description

Background technique [0001] A power grid, such as an electrical network, provides electrical power to a plurality of loads, such as residential and / or commercial structures within a municipality. When a network fault occurs within the power grid, loads may experience a blackout, such as a loss of power resulting from the network fault. Faults can be isolated within the power grid and additional restoration techniques can be employed to restore power to the load. For example fault detection, fault isolation and load restoration (FDIR) functionality may be used to supply power to the load from a non-faulted portion of the power grid, such as a capacitor bank of a non-faulted feeder that can be electrically coupled to the load. Contents of the invention [0002] This Summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts in a simplified form that are further described below in the Detailed Description. This Summary is not intended to identify key factors or essential featur...
