The invention discloses a modeling method for phase advance capability of a generator set. The method comprises the following steps: (10) obtaining parameters of the generator set, a transformer ratio of a main transformer, the transformer ratio of a high voltage service transformer and actual operation data; (20) determining different operation conditions of the generator set and different voltage levels of a system, and determining static stability limits of the generator set in different operation conditions; (30) correcting a station service load model according to the actual operation data, and building the corrected station service load model in a PSD-BPA power flow program; and (40) adjusting active power outputs of the generator set and the voltage levels of the system in the PSD-BPA power flow program, testing the maximum phase advance depth of the generator set when meeting station service voltage constraints and the static stability limits, and determining the phase advance capability of the set by integrating the maximum phase advance depth of the generator set under different active power outputs and voltage levels of the system.
