Abstract

The present invention relates to a data backup method based on an NDMP (Network Data Management Protocol) disk-to-disk replication technology. According to the method, a client DMA (Direct Memory Access) and a backup server are encapsulated into a backup all-in-one machine; and when data backup or recovery is performed, firstly, an NDMP control connection between the client DMA and a storage device as well as the backup server is established, and then the client DMA controls the storage device to establish a data connection with the backup server to realize data backup or recovery. In comparison with the prior art, according to the method provided by the present invention, the NDMP client DMA and the backup server are encapsulated together, and backed-up data is stored in the backup all-in-one machine, so that unified management of data is facilitated, and has the advantages of host load reduction, rapid recovery and the like.
