Abstract

The invention discloses a method for determining regional position of a terminal device and an OTA server. The position information of the terminal device is obtained by the OTA server; therefore product supply and inventory management are guided conveniently. The method comprises: after the OTA server receives the version searching request sent by the terminal device, obtaining an IP address from the version searching request; determining the regional position information corresponding to the IP address according to the corresponding relation of an preset IP address and the regional position information; and storing the regional position information of the terminal device. Because the OTA server can determine the regional position of any one terminal device according to the preset IP address and the regional position information, the sales region corresponding to the terminal device can be known according to the regional position information of the terminal device, further the product supply and inventory management are guided conveniently.
