Abstract

The invention discloses a 4-port apparatus for measuring a dielectric constant. The apparatus is composed of two identical bandwidth 3dB directional couplers and includes 4 ports, namely an input port, a coupling port, an output port and an isolation port. The input port and the coupling port adopt a coplanar waveguide transmission line, and the isolation port and the output port adopt a slot line. Each input/coupling port and isolation/output port adopt a coupling coplanar waveguide in transition therebetween. The output and isolation ports of the two directional couplers are connected through U-shaped slot lines. The U-shaped slot line which connects the two output ports is referred as the transmission line and is the place which has the strongest electric field in the entire apparatus. A to-be-tested object is positioned in the transmission line. In order to increase testing sensitivity, an air bridge is welded at discontinuous places of the apparatus. According to the invention, the apparatus can realize bandwidth and online measuring and has wide applicability.
