The ultrashort optical fiber grating array-based distributed high-sensitivity vibration detection system comprises a laser light source, a modulation amplifying unit, a circulator and an ultrashort optical fiber grating array which are connected with one another sequentially, wherein the circulator is connected with a coupler; the system also comprises a matching interferometer connected with the coupler, and a reflected light detection unit; two output ports of the coupler are respectively connected with two arms of the matching interferometer; the matching interferometer is corresponding to the ultrashort optical fiber grating array and is used for receiving reflected light which has passed through the ultrashort fiber grating array; and the reflected light detection unit detects received reflected light. The ultrashort optical fiber grating array-based distributed high-sensitivity vibration detection system and method of the invention have high detection accuracy and higher signal to noise ratios.
