Embodiments of the invention disclose a fisheye lens image distortion correction method and apparatus. The method comprises the steps of obtaining an orthogonal oblique grid target image; extracting a grid center line according to the orthogonal oblique grid target image; calculating a distortion center according to the grid center line; calculating distortion coefficients k1 to k6 according to the grid center line and the distortion center; and correcting an image shot by a fisheye lens through using a six-parameter correction model according to the distortion center and the distortion coefficients. According to the fisheye lens image distortion correction method provided by the embodiment of the invention, only a single target needs to be used, the calculation process is simple, the calculation amount is small, the precision is high, and fisheye lens image distortion and image asymmetry errors caused by non-coincidence of a lens center and an image center can be effectively eliminated.
