An engine control module (ECM) (104) having a plurality of driver libraries (120) is provided. Each of the driver banks (120) is configured to drive a plurality of combustion control elements (106). The driver bank (120) includes two low-side driver circuits (204(1), 204(2)) and one high-side driver circuit (202(1)), each of the plurality of driver banks (120) The high side driver circuit (202(1)) is shared by two combustion control elements (106(1), 106(2)) in pairs. Each of the at least two low-side driver circuits (204(1), 204(2)) is associated with two combustion control elements (106(1), 106(2)), respectively.
