The application method comprises the steps of formulating a sequential control plane according to different project requirement and microgrid system equipment information, wherein the sequential control plane comprises a sequential control plane ID, a starting condition and a sequential control plane item; the starting condition is a condition which needs to be satisfied in starting the sequential control; and the sequential control item is used for configuring the flow operation in each step of sequential control; pre-configuring the sequential control plane to a corresponding automatic control flow of the microgrid energy management system through a configuration tool; and after the system is put into use, enabling the microgrid energy management system to execute sequential control according to the configured sequential control plan, and remote measuring and remote signaling information of an SCADA system. The apparatus is in communication connection with the SCADA system for data interaction, wherein the apparatus comprises a sequential control plane formulating module and a sequential control plane configuring module. By adoption of the application method and apparatus, the adaptivity and the compatibility of the microgrid energy management system are improved, and the labor intensity and the operating risk of an operator are lowered.
