Abstract

The invention provides a light guiding column for a communication cabinet plugboard. The light guiding column has a mechanical integral structure and furthermore is made of a polycarbonate composite material with excellent transmittance. The light guiding column comprises a plurality of light transmission units which are uniformly distributed in a linear array. Each light transmission unit comprises a cylindrical boss, a slot and a trough. The cylindrical boss comprises a thin cylinder which is used for externally connecting with a light-penetrable hole on a front panel of a communication cabinet, and a thick cylinder which performs a positioning function on the thin cylinder. The thin cylinder and the thick cylinder are coaxially arranged and form a stepped structure. The cylindrical boss performs a function of converging and transmitting light which is emitted from an LED lamp in a PCB in the communication cabinet. Each cylindrical boss is arranged coaxially with the trough at a corresponding position. The slot has a through structure. The LED lamp is embedded into the trough. The light guiding column is advantageous in that the cylindrical boss is arranged between the front panel and the PCB, and transmission channel is supplied for optical signal transmission of the LED lamp, thereby greatly improving light guiding efficiency of an optical signal which is transmitted from the LED lamp.
