Abstract

The invention provides a method and a router for reducing Internet congestion for an Internet-of-Things, wherein the method includes: receiving by a sink node the data rule information from a server; decoding the data collection name corresponding to the ID set of each group of devices in the data rule information and the predetermined transmission time; acquiring data according to the data collection name corresponding to the ID set of each group of devices; and transmitting the acquired data according to the congestion status of the current network and the predetermined transmission time. With the above steps, the sink node selects, according to the data rule information set by the server, a part of data from the plurality of working data based on the data collection name, and transmits the data to the server according to the predetermined transmission time; and the data amount of the network is, therefore, adjusted from two aspects: the transmission amount and the transmission time, which effectively reduces internet congestion. The present invention also provides a router for reducing Internet congestion for Internet-of-Things.
