Abstract

The invention provides a liquid crystal mixture and an application thereof. The liquid crystal mixture comprises a liquid crystal compound with a general formula I and a liquid crystal compound with ageneral formula II, the general formula I is as shown in the specification, and the general formula II is as shown in the specification, wherein R is H or any one of alkyls provided with 1-7 carbon atoms; each of X1, X2, X3 and X4 is independently selected from H or F; Y is F, Cl, CF3, OCF3 or OCHF2; and each of the components marked by the letter A, B, C and D is independently selected from anyone of groups consisting of components as shown in the specifications. The liquid crystal mixture has a relatively high dielectric anisotropy value, a nematic phase with a relatively wide temperaturerange, a relatively high elasticity coefficient K and a high dielectric anisotropy value so as to be beneficial to the increment of contrast ratio and light transmittance of a liquid crystal display,the improvement of the quality of a display image and energy saving.
