The invention discloses a parallel retrieval system and method applicable to a combined trademark. The system comprises a WEB server, a first arithmetic unit, a text retrieval condition analysis unit,an image retrieval condition analysis unit, a text matching unit, an image matching unit and a heterogeneous data memory. The to-be-retrieved combined trademark is segmented into a text part and an image part; respectively by using the text retrieval condition analysis unit and the image retrieval condition analysis unit, the text part and the image part are processed separately; a to-be-retrieved text is subjected to multi-keyword extraction; a to-be-retrieved image is subjected to preprocessing and multi-image feature extraction; and matching is performed with massive text data and image data in the internet. The retrieval system and method is not limited to a standard trademark library and is wider in retrieval range. The to-be-retrieved text and the to-be-retrieved image are subjectedto the keyword extraction, the preprocessing and the feature extraction, so that matched feature points are more accurate, an identification error is small, and the retrieval accuracy and efficiencyare greatly improved.
