Abstract

The present invention discloses a hierarchical control method and system for a cascading STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator). The method comprises the following steps of: generating an initial parameter set configured to start a cascading STATCOM in an upper-layer controller; transmitting the initial parameter set to each bottom-layer controller used to control each sub module in the cascading STATCOM by the upper-layer controller through a communication link; in each bottom-layer controller, generating PWM initial modulation signals based on the received initial parameter set as a control command to be sent in real time to each sub module to start the cascading STATCOM system for working, and collecting output voltages and currents after each sub module is started; and based on the detected voltage and current values in real time, further performing control calculation to obtain PWM real-time modulation signals, and employing the PWM real-time modulation signals to control the voltage output of corresponding connected sub modules.
