Embodiment approach

[0058] Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described using the drawings. In addition, in each figure, the same code|symbol is attached|subjected to the same structure, and the description is abbreviate|omitted suitably.

[0059] figure 1 It is a block diagram schematically showing the configuration of a colorimeter according to an embodiment of the present invention. figure 2 is roughly showing figure 1 The colorimeter shown is a diagram of the state of the measured object.

[0060] exist figure 2 In this embodiment, the display device 10 as the object to be measured is, for example, an organic EL display. In addition, the display device 10 is not limited to an organic EL display, and may be another display such as a liquid crystal display or a plasma display.

[0061] The colorimeter 20 of this embodiment receives the measurement light 12 emitted from the display screen 11 of the display device 10 . Such as figure 1 As shown, the colorimeter ...

Abstract

This colorimeter is provided with: a light guide portion which introduces measuring light; a light-receiving sensor which has a pixel region including a plurality of pixels, and which outputs light-reception signals from the plurality of pixels when the measuring light is incident thereon; a plurality of filters which are disposed between the light guide portion and the light-receiving sensor, andeach of which faces one of a mutually different plurality of partial pixel regions, each of which is a part of the pixel region, each filter having a different spectral transmittance characteristic;a storage portion which stores pixel positions of pixel groups to be used for computation, from among the pixels included in each of the plurality of partial pixel regions; and a computation control portion which calculates an index related to color using the light-reception signals output from each pixel group. The pixel position of each pixel group is obtained in advance on the basis of a positional relationship between each of the plurality of filters and the light-receiving sensor.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a colorimeter for measuring the color display performance of a display device. Background technique [0002] Display devices are required to improve display performance, and in particular, low-brightness performance has been emphasized in recent years. In order to deal with this situation, the measuring device for measuring the display performance of the display device also needs to improve the measurement accuracy at low luminance. [0003] In order to improve the measurement accuracy under low luminance, a high S / N (Signal Noise Ratio; signal-to-noise ratio) is required. This is because when the S / N is low, the signal is buried in noise, and chromaticity or luminance cannot be accurately measured. [0004] In order to improve S / N, there are the following two methods. The first method is to increase the amount of light incident on the sensor. The second approach is to reduce the noise of the measurement setup. Her...
